Welcome to the 6th Siberian Husky Sled Dog
Showcase to be held in the United States!
JUDGES:
CLASSES: Puppy, Yearling (untitled), Untitled, SD, SDX, SDO, Veterans (10 years and over). Classes will be divided between dogs and bitches.
Eligibility Rules:
Puppy Classes: * Untitled Class: Untitled dogs must have either proof of race records or two pictures that clearly show the dog working in harness. Dogs may work in any size team on snow or rig, which also includes skijoring/bikejoring/scootering. You don't need to race to enter your dogs as long as they are working Siberians. If you do not race, photos of your dog in harness or a detailed training log must be copied and sent in with your entry but we much prefer photos. * Yearling Class: Yearlings class has the same rules as untitled. This class is for dogs between 1-2 years of age. * SD/SDX/SDO Titled Dogs: Titled dogs must have proof of title (or a note from SHCA working degree chairman that your dog has it's title and is being processed). *Veteran Class: Dog must be 10 years
and over. Photos of past races or in harness must be sent with
entry. Dogs may not have run for a few years due to age. * Spayed and neutered dogs are allowed. * Every dog must be registered (AKC/CKC/UKC etc) * No exhibitor may show a dog bred by any of the judges judging the current show. * Every dog on premises must have proof of current rabies.
JUDGING: The SHCA standard will be used as a framework for awarding points. Points will be awarded by each judge in each of the following categories using this point scale below. Scores will be tallied ringside. The top four places in each class will be awarded. If there is a tied score the judges will choose which dog is that placement winner. Following the completion of the classes, the top 10 point earners will return to the ring for a parade and awards (Top 10 Award). After the Top 10 Parade, the first place winners from each class will come back into the ring for judging and award of Best In Showcase.

HISTORY OF THE SHOWCASE 13 years ago Abby Fallis of Canada envisioned a dog show for Siberian Huskies who work in harness. She wanted 3 working judges to evaluate all entrants and award a Best In Showcase. She put together her first show and it was a huge success and has become popular and is still continued today in Canada. Gail Castonguay of New Hampshire saw how much Siberian Husky mushers liked this showcase so decided she wanted to bring one to the United States. In 2015 she hosted the first one in Vermont and had a huge entry of nearly 80 dogs. The feedback was so positive she continued to manage the show until she retired. Members of North Country Mushers wanted to see this event continue so they still carry on the show today. Thank you Abby and Gail for your past hard work and we hope to carry on the event for years to come!
