(A showcase event for Siberian Husky sled dogs that work in harness)

Welcome to the 6th Siberian Husky Sled Dog Showcase to be held in the United States!

JUDGES:

Jaye Foucher- Wentworth, NH  (Sibersong Siberians)

About Jaye:

Jaye Foucher has been racing, breeding and occasionally showing Siberian Huskies for over 20 years. She has completed the Can-Am 250 multiple times, most recently finishing 3rd in 2025. She has also raced in the Beargrease Marathon 4x, the UP200 twice, and many other 100+ mile races in the Northeast and Midwest US. In the off-season she has recently been doing AKC FastCAT with some of her Siberians and has participated in many of the Siberian Sleddog Showcases in the US and Canada, including judging one of the Canadian showcases.

Dean Cordwell - North Yorkshire, UK (Sakino Siberians)

About Dean:

Dean is a dryland Musher from the UK and first became involved with Siberians in 2005, maintaining a small kennel for a number of years and attending local races. After completing his genetics degree and with his partner Nikki, the kennel began growing with Siberian Huskies and Canadian Eskimo dogs. Over the years Dean has ran teams in multiple categories but more recently has turned his main focus to the 8 dog class with a view to compete in Europe. Away from trails, Dean has been a KC Judge for Siberians for 7 years and has since added several other working Breeds to his portfolio. Outside of the kennel, Dean can often be found travelling the UK and overseas meeting people, their kennels and ultimately chatting all things Siberian! Dean is most grateful to be invited out to 2025 Siberian Sleddog Showcase and is very much looking forward to meeting all your athletes!

Jack Steffen - Brownfield, ME (Klonaquay Siberians)

About Jack:

Originally from Wisconsin, I moved to New England years ago with my late wife, Jane.  We were drawn by our shared passion for Siberian Huskies, love of the White Mountains and proximity to the Atlantic coast.  Here, we bred, showed, and raced our Siberians.   Having been involved with Siberians for over 40 years, I count as my mentors Michael Jennings (Demavand Siberians), Charlie Belford DVM, John Linnehan (Cudubhan Siberians), Carol Nash (Marlytuk Siberians), Johanna Duwaldt Coutu (Liyaza Siberians), and Jeanne Nonhof (Moonlighter Samoyeds).  As a skier, I enjoy sharing my skijoring knowledge by hosting clinics in Jackson, NH so others can experience the excitement of skiing with their dogs.

Dogs may work in any size team on snow or rig, which also includes skijoring/bikejoring/scootering.  You don't need to race to enter your dogs as long as they are working Siberians.  If you do not race, photos of your dog in harness or a detailed training log must be copied and sent in with your entry but we much prefer photos.
* Yearling Class: Yearlings class has the same rules as untitled.  This class is for dogs between 1-2 years of age.

* SD/SDX/SDO Titled Dogs: Titled dogs must have proof of title (or a note from SHCA working degree chairman that your dog has it's title and is being processed).

*Veteran Class: Dog must be 10 years and over.  Photos of past races or in harness must be sent with entry.  Dogs may not have run for a few years due to age.

* Spayed and neutered dogs are allowed.

* Every dog must be registered (AKC/CKC/UKC etc)

* No exhibitor may show a dog bred by any of the judges judging the current show.

* Every dog on premises must have proof of current rabies.

JUDGING: The SHCA standard will be used as a framework for awarding points. Points will be awarded by each judge in each of the following categories using this point scale below. Scores will be tallied ringside. The top four places in each class will be awarded. If there is a tied score the judges will choose which dog is that placement winner.

Following the completion of the classes, the top 10 point earners will return to the ring for a parade and awards (Top 10 Award). After the Top 10 Parade, the first place winners from each class will come back into the ring for judging and award of Best In Showcase.

HISTORY OF THE SHOWCASE

13 years ago Abby Fallis of Canada envisioned a dog show for Siberian Huskies who work in harness.  She wanted 3 working judges to evaluate all entrants and award a Best In Showcase.  She put together her first show and it was a huge success and has become popular and is still continued today in Canada.  Gail Castonguay of New Hampshire saw how much Siberian Husky mushers liked this showcase so decided she wanted to bring one to the United States.  In 2015 she hosted the first one in Vermont and had a huge entry of nearly 80 dogs.  The feedback was so positive she continued to manage the show until she retired.  Members of North Country Mushers wanted to see this event continue so they still carry on the show today.  Thank you Abby and Gail for your past hard work and we hope to carry on the event for years to come!
